First Presbyterian Church has had a long relationship with the Rev. Jan Dus from the Czech Republic. In 2022, Rev. Dus founded Camino Humanitar, a non-profit Christian organization that provides support for the victims of war in Ukraine.
Camino works in four areas: Food Security, Injured Civilians, Shelters, and Children in Need. The primary focus of this work is with those who are most at risk from the war: orphans, the elderly, mothers with children, people with disabilities, and other socially-marginalized groups.

SPECIAL OFFERINGS
PCUSA Offerings
First Presbyterian Church supports mission work around the world and in our community through offerings sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Christmas Joy: Half of this offering benefits retired clergy through the Board of Pensions and half benefits our students of diverse ethnicity who are training to go into the ministry.
One Great Hour of Sharing: The offering benefits Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Self-Development of Peoples and the Presbyterian Hunger Program.
Pentecost Offering: This provides a direct way to meet the needs of children at risk, youth, and young adults in our own community. 40% of the Offering is given to support local ministry with young people in our own hometown.
Peacemaking Offering: This is received on World Communion Sunday, celebrated the first Sunday in October. It is recommended that 25% of the offering received be retained by each congregation, 25% be used by synods and presbyteries, and 50% be used by the General Assembly ministries through the Presbyterian
Peacemaking Program.
